Applications are now open for the 2026 Call for Code Global Challenge, a global innovation competition inviting developers, students, researchers, designers, and technology enthusiasts to create impactful AI-powered solutions that address one of the world’s most urgent human rights issues—human trafficking.
Built on the world’s largest developer mobilization for social good, Call for Code AI is focused on developing trustworthy artificial intelligence solutions that can create meaningful social impact at a global scale. Founded in partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights), the initiative operates across more than 190 countries and aligns with international frameworks guiding the responsible development and deployment of technology.
The 2026 challenge, themed “United Against Trafficking,” provides participants with an opportunity to use innovation and AI to help prevent trafficking, support survivors, strengthen justice systems, and raise awareness worldwide.

Challenge Tracks
Participants can submit projects under any of the following four tracks:
1. Anticipate & Disrupt
Develop solutions that detect, map, or predict trafficking risks before harm occurs.
2. Assist & Amplify
Create survivor-centered AI tools that support recovery, protection, empowerment, and long-term resilience.
3. Accountability & Justice
Build technologies that strengthen legal processes, evidence gathering, investigations, and prosecution pathways.
4. Art Against Trafficking
Use AI-assisted storytelling, visualization, media, or creative content to inspire action and increase public awareness about human trafficking.

AI Hub Incubator Program

- A published case study showcasing the impact of selected solutions.
How to Participate
Getting involved is simple and consists of five steps:
Step 1: Register
Sign up on the official hackathon platform. Every team member must register individually.
Step 2: Learn
Review the challenge guidelines, resources, and educational materials. Participants are also encouraged to join the Discord community for support and networking.
Step 3: Build
Spend four weeks developing your solution using any programming language, framework, or AI platform. There is no required technology stack.
Step 4: Submit
Submit your completed project before the official deadline according to the submission requirements.
Step 5: Post-Hackathon
Selected teams will advance to the AI Hub Incubator Program for mentorship and project development.
